Rocca di Papa is located in the Roman Castles Regional Park. You can spend afternoons walking through the Bavarian quarter and old city lanes, admiring the panoramic views of Rome and Tuscolo hills, visiting churches and the Geophysics museum and walking to the top of Cavo mountain where you will discover the ancient path of Via Sacra, an ancient Roman road, and admire the views of lake Albano and lake Nemi.
In the evenings, enjoy the numerous restaurants offering local Roman food together with famous regional wines. The Roman Castles area offers many possibilities for relaxation, from the art of the Tuscolo Villas of Frascati, to walks along panoramic paths and simple relaxation on the banks of lakes Albano and Nemi.
Rocca di Papa is approximately 8 km from Castel Gandolfo (the pope's summer residence), 15 km from Ciampino Airport and 20 km from the centre of Rome.
